About the Classes
Somerset Youth Theatre
Westlands is proud to be hosting a new youth theatre group for young people aged 6+!
The Somerset Youth Theatre is for anyone interested in devising, writing or performing. No previous experience is necessary – just come wanting to be creative, have fun and make new friends. For ages 7 – 18 years. New members are always welcome!
Somerset is full of funny stories, brilliant characters and strange myths. The time has come to turn these tales into plays, and bring some of the county’s best-kept secrets to life!
The group will be diving straight in to making a new play to perform as part of the Somerset Youth Theatre Festival in February 2019.
The Somerset Youth Theatre is run by Somerset’s Wassail Theatre Company. Wassail make weird and wonderful plays that tour all over the county, performing in village halls, pubs, living rooms, butcher shops and outside.
Castaway Theatre Group
Castaway Theatre Group, also known simply as Castaways, is a Community Theatre Group. Taking children from the age of 5-16 with adults helping and taking part when required, the group has a real sense of family.
Meeting on a Saturday at The Octagon Theatre, Yeovil, Somerset, the group frequently puts on a variety of shows for the public to enjoy, including musicals, plays and showcases.
LeRoc (MoJive)
LEROC is a fusion of jive and latin dance styles, great fun and easy to learn. LEROC - aka 'modern jive' - is one of the most popular forms of partner dancing in the UK today. More than just a dance class, it's a great social night out too!
Westlands Ballroom
Westland Ballroom Dance Club are one of the finest Ballroom Dance Clubs in the United Kingdom. They support dancers of all standards with the aim to provide entertainment and joy to dancers whilst promoting the spirit of dance for all. The evenings offer a complete programme of Ballroom and Latin dances with popular sequence.
Fortnightly on a Wednesday throughout the year, ballroom dancers from the South West of England gather in the magnificent setting of the Westlands Ballroom for an evening of dancing, music and excellent company.
The club is inclusive and dancers of all levels are made most welcome. The aims of the club is to provide an excellent dancing experience with the best music and superb ambience. The dancing is complemented by the excellent facilities of Westland Entertainment Venue offering excellent service, bar facilities and ample free safe parking.
The club provides three hours of dancing from 7.30pm until 10.30pm.
The club provides a mix of dancing, predominately Ballroom and Latin American complimented with popular sequence dances and Argentinian Tango. The dances are usually played in twos and throughout the evening there is a varied programme of Ballroom and Latin dances: Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba and Paso Doble. These dances are interspersed with some sequence dances such as a Mayfair Quickstep, Rumba One, Argentine Stroll, Mambo Magic and Square Tango. The sequence dances are approximately one quarter of the dances.
Adventure Babies
Each week transport your baby to another world. Multi award winning themed adventures begin with an interactive story telling session and are followed by exciting sensory activities including messy play.

Matt Fiddes Martial Arts – Juniors
The junior programme is for kids aged 7-11 and is designed to give your child everything they need to thrive in life from physical fitness and confidence through to improved school work and respect for others. Our classes are loved by the students, parents and their teachers because we make them fun and encourage the children to grow into young responsible adults in a natural way.
