Making a Musical: 1pm - 4pm

Interested in writing or developing new musicals? A short weekend workshop focused on the fundamentals of making a musical. Led by new writing producer and composer Anthony Kosky.

This workshop includes a special guests ‘In conversation with Taina Azevedo’ joining via video link. Tania Azevedo is a critically acclaimed director, dramaturg and facilitator. Working with over 30 companies in recent years supporting new musicals, plays and operas as a dramaturg, script-development consultant as well as a director through research & development processes. She is currently the Creative Development Associate for Stage Entertainment International. Previous credits include Director of the critically acclaimed But, I’m A Cheerleader, Resident Director for &Juliet (West End) and Assistant Director for Heathers (West End, UK No1 tour).

During this workshop you will: 

  • Develop new ideas for musicals.
  • Understand the timeline and creative process of making a Musical.
  • In conversation with Tania Azevedo focused on the creative process.
  • Compose a ‘I want’ song for a new musical.
  • Q and A opportunities throughout.

You don’t need to play an instrument to attend this workshop. You can be at any stage of your development as a writer, composer, producer or performer with an interest in musical theatre.

This is a workshop for 16+ with no upper age limit.
