Heritage Talk: Tractor Talk

Heritage Talk: Tractor Talk

2026 marks 60 years since one of Yeovil’s best loved and fondly remembered companies left the town. In 1966, Ferguson and Massey Ferguson tractor dealer, Percy Winsor Ltd of Vicarage Street was taken over by South Western Farmers and moved to Crewkerne.

Join Heritage Co-Ordinator, Joseph Lewis as he traces the photographic history of Vicarage Street with highlights like the Albion Inn and Trasks Mineral Waters through to the construction of the Quedam Shopping Centre in 1984.

In between, Joseph looks in detail at the Percy Winsor workshop memories, the tractor displays at Yeovil Showground and the impact of the Ferguson system on agriculture.
