Pack your picnic blanket, bring your camping chair, take your picnic lunch and get ready to Chill on the Hill!
Cultivate’s Chill on the Hill returns this year with a fun, creative and circus event for families.
In partnership with our friends at Ham Hill Country Park, The Octagon Theatre and the Prince of Wales at Ham Hill there will be performances, workshops, local food and an opportunity to watch the formidable Pirates of the Carabina with their show – Pirate Taxi!
A list of the day’s events (full information and booking details as below)
10.30am: Nature Walk and Creative Art workshop for children (ages 5+ and their adults)
11.00am: Aerial workshop for beginners with Hangabout Aerial (ages 5 -12 yrs)
12.15pm: Nature Walk and Creative Art workshop for children (ages 5+ and their adults)
12.15pm: Indian movement workshop with Sonia Sabri Company (8+)
12.30pm: Aerial workshop for beginners with Hangabout Aerial (ages 5 – 12 yrs)
1pm: Bring your picnic to have on the hill, visit the Prince of Wales pub or check out food offerings from one of our local producers.
1.45pm: Mughal Miniatures: The Peacock and The Princess Walkabout by Sonia Sabri Company
2pm: Pirates of the Carabina present The Pirate Taxi

The Octagon Theatre will be working with the Sonia Sabri Dance Company to bring you workshops and performances to this event:
12.15pm - Indian Movement workshop with Sonia Sabri Dance Company
Join dancers from Mugal Miniatures for a fun, uplifting Bollywood movement workshop. Dance in the sunshine and enjoy music and movement to inspire! No previous experience necessary.

1.45pm & 2.45pm - Mughal Miniatures: The Peacock and The Princess Walkabout by Sonia Sabri Company
Come and see our proud and majestic peacock and our prim and pretty princess roam through the crowds, in Mughal Miniatures: The Princess and the Peacock. Watch them compete for attention from each other and the audience - both are elegant and beautiful so who will manage outdo the other? With stunning costumes and expressive movement, this interactive dance performance is a visual treat for the whole family. Co-commissioned by Applause

Notes on the day
All workshops will take place outside, near the stone circle at Ham Hill (follow the signs to find us).
If for any reason, we have to cancel the workshops due to poor weather conditions a full refund will be given. Wherever possible we will continue to deliver the workshops in an alternative venue. All information will be given to parents/carers on the day or morning of the event. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshops are due to start.
Food available on the day
Our friends at The Prince of Wales pub work with local producers in the area to create a varied menu including something for everyone. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner check out The Prince of Wales website here for details. Booking is advisable.
Good to know
*Please park at the various car parks located on the hill or follow the directions to parking.
*There will be standard and disabled portaloo for public use throughout the duration of the event.
*Ham Hill Country Park sits on a quarry so the ground is uneven. Please wear suitable footwear.
*Audiences should bring a blanket or camping chair to sit on.
*We welcome you to bring a picnic but please take your rubbish home with you.
*There should be no glass bottles or glasses on the hill.
*Why not book in at the pub for breakfast, lunch or for dinner after the event?
